This holiday package is aimed at people with a passion for food who would like to find out more about Scottish Cooking, either by a hands-on or a hands-off approach. There are three ways of enjoying a Scottish Cooking Holiday at our B&B, which all involve guidance by qualified chef Bert Wigman who recently upgraded his position from a keen amateur cook to a professional chef and is happy to share his newfound knowledge with our cooking holiday guests!
Package 1:
Our main cooking holiday package, which involves a 5 nights’ stay at our B&B with a group of 4 – 6 people who book together and actively help out with cooking typical Scottish dishes for 4 days, making use of Scotland’s wild and fresh ingredients. The prepared meals will be served to you at around 6 pm. For further details and prices of this full package please see further down the page.
Package 2:
If there are only two or three of you and you are planning a shorter stay (min. 2 nights), we are equally happy to offer you the above Scottish Cooking experience at a cost of £35 per person per day on top of your B&B price. Package to be arranged in advance.
Package 3:
If you are planning to stay for a minimum of 5 nights and fancy eating excellent wild and fresh Scottish food but prefer not to cook in your holiday, you are welcome to enjoy eating a 4-course dinner at our B&B (minimum of 3 evenings) at a cost of £17.50 p.p. per evening on top of your B&B price.
Note that we are not allowed to sell alcohol in our B&B, so if you like an alcoholic drink with your dinner, please bring along your own.

When you choose package 1 or 2 you will be starting your day with a tasty Scottish, Vegetarian or Continental breakfast. After breakfast you will have plenty of time to explore the (wider) area of Drumnadrochit and Loch Ness*. Around 3.30 pm we will make a start with cooking your dinner, inviting you to join us actively in the kitchen. This will give you an opportunity to gain an insight in Scottish cooking – although occasionally it will be mixed with a flavour of Continental cooking because of our Dutch background. For Scottish and English guests we are happy to bring on some typical Dutch and other Continental dishes.
Our food is prepared with quality Scottish products and typical dishes on the menu may be: Cullen Skink (fish soup), venison, game, lamb, (home smoked) West-Coast salmon, the legendary Haggis, Neeps & Tatties, vegetable curry, baked potato, and of course some of the well-known mouth-watering desserts, e.g. Raspberry Meringue and Sticky Toffee Pudding. Depending on the season you are welcome to pick raspberries, brambles or chantarelles in our area, either in a guided walk or on your own. At the end of your stay we will present you with all the recipes, to give you the opportunity to enjoy the dishes again at home!
* We are happy to guide your group on a 3 – 4 hour walk during one of the days of your stay; please arrange at time of booking.
For package 3 you are invited back to our B&B at a pre-arranged early-evening time, when we will serve you a delicious 4-course Scottish evening meal.
